In
the fall of 1620, just over 100 people sailed from England
and landed in what is now Plymouth, Massachusetts to start
a new life in a new land. They struggled through their
first winter of extreme weather and cold. Many did not
survive. With the help of the native Indians, they worked
the land, raised crops and enjoyed a bountiful harvest.
This small group of immigrants celebrated their survival
in a new land, their new friends,
and the harvest that would help them through the coming
harsh winter with a festival of gratitude and prayer.
From simple, humble beginnings came the Thanksgiving
celebrations we know today. It is a day to be with family and friends
and express gratitude for not only the bountiful harvest,
but the many blessings we enjoy. As you gather together
with loved ones this week, enjoy the reunions, the food,
the football and the fun, and remember the good things,
the blessings and the joy in your life.

| This
simple accordion tag card folds to fit in a standard envelope
and you can write a personal holiday greeting on the reverse
side. The recipient of the card will not only receive your
holiday greetings, but will also have a simple decoration
to display!
Create this accordion tag card with these simple steps:
1. Start with a sheet of 12” x 5 ½” cardstock. Score and
fold the cardstock at 4” increments to create three equal sections for
the tags. Trim the corners of each section to create the individual tags.
2. Cut three pieces of accent paper to 3 ½” x
5” and trim the corners to create tags. Adhere
accent paper to each tag on the card.
3. Using the Creative Delights Browser create the alphabet
images for your card, print and trim individual letters
to 2” x 3 ½”. Add additional detail
by inking the edges of the trimmed letter or accent corners
with brads or eyelets. Adhere letters securely to each
tag section.
4. For the finishing touch, attach a matching ribbon
to the top of each tag.
Don't just limit yourself to Journaling
Delight images for your cards. Consider a theme appropriate for the recipient
and create a card using their initial from a Lettering
Delights alphabet.

heart U', send new baby 'BOY' wishes or celebrate freedom
